It all started when a homeroom/English teacher showed up to school with a Fender Amplifier. Without knowing it, two of the members of Sons of Phelan (Jeremy & John) happened to be watching the band's namesake as he carried his equipment to the front of his room. Casual conversations about the amp sparked an interest in hearing it, and the boys were hooked.
Later that same year, an underclassmen (Orin) strummed a Danelectro 12-string in-front of the entire student body. The seed that had been planted mere months ago had started to set roots and Jeremy, John, and Orin quickly devised a plan with Mr. Phelan about creating a space to jam together.
In its initial phase, the Sons stood steadfast as a five-piece band. Jeremy was the pulse on drums, Orin was the compliment to the rhythm section on bass, while John added entertainment on the lead vocal parts. Fortunately, the fourth member, Jimmy, was an excellent keyboardist who added another vocal part. Finally, the homeroom teacher coached the boys on performances from his advisory position as the lead guitarist. The boys performed in this configuration for a few years, finding the thrill of performance a muse they would continue to chase for the rest of their lives.
As most stories go, the boys went their separate ways after high school to "find themselves" while still holding on to their memories of their childhood. They continued to perform and learned to play a variety of new instruments, but nothing quite ever felt the same as playing with the fellow Sons.
The stars aligned in 2023, when the boys happened to be in the same area when Jeremy's brother Aaron was looking for an opener for a concert he was putting on. After the performance, the boys all felt that the fire had been relit and that this journey was going to last a lifetime.
While keeping true to the wisdom shared from John Phelan, the boys continue to stay the path of creating quality content to share with all audiences. They look forward to taking their experiences and encapsulating them into new songs to share with anyone who will listen.
